BENEFITS FOR DOCTORS
Circumplast® has eliminated well-known risks associated with the use of bell-shaped devices such as Plastibell. In particular, complications arising from proximal migration of the Plastibell device has been eliminated by the design of Circumplast®.
Circumplast® has successfully been used to conduct thousands of circumcisions around the world. Studies have been conducted in both Australia and the United Kingdom and are presented at the European Society of Paediatric Urologists (ESPU) congress.
Circumplast® is a FDA registered device.
The surgical procedure required for Circumplast® is a significant improvement over the surgical procedure for Plastibell.
PROCEDURE
There is a link for an animation below which gives an overview of Circumplast® Circumcision. It shows how the procedure is conducted using the Circumplast® device. This is the safest method used to carry out circumcisions on babies and young children.

Clearly mark the level at which the circumcision is to occur. At this point, the local anaesthetic is used.
Carefully separate the foreskin from the glans.
To avoid any bleeding, ligate or electrocoagulation of the frenulum vessels is required. The foreskin needs to be retracted proximally to show the glans, and leave sufficient space for the device to be inserted correctly.
Ensure the dorsal slit is long enough for the Circumplast® to be inserted.
The device then needs to be inserted until it reaches the coronal sulcus. Fix the foreskin to the distal edge of the Circumplast® device using forceps.
Ensure the ligature found in the device packaging is secured at the marked location. The handle of the device needs to be broken once the ligature is secured firmly.
The extra foreskin needs to be cut and electro-coagulated. After the circumcision, the device falls off naturally within a few days.
